Sedgefield is a large village, located in the parish of Upper Skerne, in County Durham in north east England. Known as being the constituency of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, it received a visit from US President Bush during 2003, an event which required intensive high security measure to be undertaken including fastening manhole covers and drains and closing all of the village to all traffic. Quite a disruption for a country village unused to such events, and the inevitable media attention, that surrounded it.
