Pluckley is a village in the Ashford District of Kent, located close to the North Downs and on the long distance walking route, the Greensand Way. Pluckley has two particular claims to fame: the drama series, The Darling Buds of May, was filmed there, based on the novel by H E Bates who lived nearby; and it is said to be the most haunted village in Britain. It is reputed to have at least 12 ghosts who have been known to appear at various locations and buildings around the village such as Fright Corner, the Screaming Woods, St Nicholas’ Church and The Black Horse Inn.
