Newburgh is a small sea-port town in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, situated at the mouth of the Ythan estuary, on the Aberdeen coast. Newburgh is world famous for its Ythan Sea Trout; the river also is abundant with brown trout and salmon. Man-made tools made from flint, known as flint-knapping sites have been discovered around the raised beach areas in Newburgh giving evidence the town has been built over an ancient settlement dating back to prehistoric times. Newburgh its-self dates back to 1261 with a request from Lord Sinclair to build a chapel.
