Charlton House is a stunning sixteen bedroom country house hotel set in a tranquil rural location in the heart of England's West Country.The Manor of Charlton was first mentioned in the 1086 Doomsday Survey and although it is said that merchant Roger Ames built the house for his bride in 1630, architectural details point to a much earlier date.The present house was acquired October 1997 by Roger and Monty Saul, founders of the world renowned Mulberry Design Company. To restore, refurbish and revitalise Charlton House into the hotel of their dreams, was quite simply a labour of love.Already gaining an impressive reputation as the hotel for 'special occasions', Charlton House features a superb restaurant with an accolade winning Chef. The kitchen promises a unique style, where traditional tastes meet exotic appetites in traditional Mulberry fashion complemented by a cellar which reflects Roger's passion for wine.
