Loch Rannoch is a large body of fresh water in Perth and Kinross, Scotland, 20 miles west of Pitlochry and 20 miles north-west of Aberfeldy. At the east end of Loch Rannoch is the beginning of Loch Tummel. The Hydro-electric Reservoir sits between the two Lochs and nearby is the small remote village of Kinloch Rannoch which is a tourist and outdoor pursuits centre. Loch Rannoch flows in an east-west direction, approximately 15km long and 1km wide. Along the south shore lays The Tay Forest Park in Rannoch Forest and the Blackwood of Rannoch once part of the ancient Caledonian Forest.
