The old market town of Knighton lies on the border of England and Wales on the banks of the River Teme. The Weslh name for town, Tref –y- Clawdd translting as the town on the dyke whilst the English name of Knighton is said to be derived from settlement of the knights, and both interpretations are correct. Located in Mid Wales the town of Knighton straddles the border between England and Wales, where Powys meets Shropshire and has an historic past located around mid way along Offa’s Dyke Path – its close association with the town is evident after years of lobbying it is a designated National Trail with a dedicated information centre that is enjoyed by thousands of visitors every year.
