The interesting town of Kirkintilloch is positioned on the Forth & Clyde Canal in Dunbartonshire in Scotland, and is home to just over twenty thousand people. It first rose in importance when the Romans settled here and the Roman Emperor Antoninus Pius built a wall, remnants of which can still be seen through the heart of the town. Visitors can enjoy a gentle stroll along the Canal Banks built in the 18th Century which brought prosperity to the town, where there's a choice of watering holes along the way offering coffee or something a little stronger.
