Iver is about 20 miles from central London, in the Colne Valley in the south-east corner of Buckinghamshire. This village name has Anglo-Saxon origins and its church has parts dating back to the 15th century, as well as the remainders of a Saxon window. There are many 16th and 17th century houses in the village, along with a number of pubs, including The Whip & Collar, The Swan and the Red Lion who serve food too. There are several dedicated restaurants, 3 specialising in Indian cuisine. A few miles away is the larger village of Iver Heath and here a guesthouse (Oaklands) can be found.
