The village of Hambledon lies is to be found in Hampshire and there has been a settlement here since before Roman Times whilst the first recorded mention of Hambledon is accredited to King Edgar in 956. A stroll through the streets of Hambledon is an interesting exercise, each of the cottages a little different from each other, but only limited architecture is available from before the 18th century. It was in the 18th century that two serious fires struck the village one destroying most of the east side of the High Street whilst the other destroyed part of the church.
