Gairloch is a settlement in the north-west Highlands of Scotland, situated 24 miles north-west of Achnasheen, lying on the north shore of Gair Loch at Glen Torridon in the Ben Eighe area. This historical area was once Mackenzie Clan territory from 1494 when it was secured from the Macleods. Gairloch lies in a scenic location with panaramic views out to sea, over to the Isle of Skye, Gairloch has beautiful sandy beaches and has been popular with tourists since Queen Victoria stayed at the Gairloch Hotel in 1878.
