Flintham is a small village in Nottinghamshire which about eight miles south west of the town of Newark-on -Trent. It is on the A46 road close to the RAF Syerston. The village church is dedicated to St Augustine of Canterbury and has a Victorian nave attached to a Norman tower and chancel. The Ham class minesweeper HMS Flintham is named after the village. The Flintham Museum is opening during the summer and sees the life of a rural village through the eyes of a twentieth century shopkeeper. Part of Flintham's Main Street is a listed Conservation Area, which includes a 1935 cast iron telephone kiosk and a total of 38 buildings and structures.
