Earl Shilton is a large village in Leicestershire that was once famed for it’s boot and shoe manufacture and production of hosiery, it has a rich tapestry of history dating back to the Iron Age, now home to 9065 people. With the close proximity of the Ashby Canal the chance to sample the delights that it has to offer is one that should be eagerly taken, from walks along the Tow Path, boat trips, or trying to capture the wonders of Mother Nature on canvas. Or how about Thornton Reservoir, spreading over 75 acres, where cycle trails are part of the National Cycle Network, and fishermen take advantage of the Trout on offer.
