Drumnadrochit is a village in the Highlands of Scotland, situated on the River Enrick in the Great Glen at the head of Urquhart Bay, the largest bay of Loch Ness. Drumnadrochit lies on the west shore of Loch Ness, famous as the home of ‘Nessie’ the Loch Ness Monster, St. Columba reported the first sighting of the ‘water-beast’ in the 6th century. Archaeological sites suggest the area has been inhabited by ancient settlements with the well-preserved Clava Cairn at Corrimony near Crannich.
