If Dersingham, situated just off the A149 to the north of Castle Rising, is taken with Sandringham and Ingoldisthorpe as the three seemingly inevitably run together along the B1440 then it is more of a town than a village with facilities to match, though it does manage to retain its own village character. Part of that character undoubtedly comes from the lovely Norman church of St Nicholas, patron saint of fishermen – when the church was built the sea was a lot closer than the still easy two-mile trip nowadays.
