The Ancient market town of Cullompton lies on the river Culm and is set in some of the finest unspoilt scenery in the West country. The fast flowing waters of the Culm means there are many old redundant mills spotted around this area. Today the town still boasts working paper and textile mills. Cold Harbour Mill near Cullompton is a working museum, where volunteers show the part played in wool production by each piece of machinery, some of which are over 100 years old. There are two suggested origins for the town’s name; from the Irish St.
