Clapham is a village that sits on the north bank of the River Great Ouse in Bedfordshire, and reaches back into history to before the Norman Conquest, although the population has risen to 3,930 since then. The village is perhaps famous for it’s links with Glen Miller, as Twinwood Airfield is where he boarded that fateful flight back in the 40’s. The Control Tower is now a Museum, if you time your visit right the Glen Miller Festival will be on, and the sounds of Swing, and Jazz echo hauntingly around the Airfield.
