Chiselhampton is a small village within the civil parish of Stadhampton in Oxfordshire. It is located close to the River Thame, about four miles south east of Oxford. Other local settlements in the parish of Stadhampton include: Marsh Baldon, Chalgrove, Berinsfield and Newington. There is one pub in the village, The Coach & Horses Inn on the River Thame. The medieval Chiselhampton Bridge is of historical English Civil War significance, and also a popular point on the river for coarse fishing. The village church of St Katherine’s is an unaltered Georgian chapel built in 1762, beloved of the poet John Betjeman.
