Chesham, a market town with a population of 23,000 in Buckinghamshire’s Chiltern Hills and 25 miles northwest of London. The town is situated in the pretty Chess Valley, the River Chess is a chalk-stream tributary of the River Colne. This little river allowed much industry and the growing of watercress in the Victorian era, Chesham is now mainly a commuter town, though there are issues with mobile communications with being in a valley. The town featured on TV in both Inspector Morse and Midsommer Murders as it is charming, with St Mary’s church dating from the 12th century.
