Nestling on the southern slope of the ByBrook valley and situated within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, much of the village of Box is in a Conservation Area. The village grew up along the A4, once famous as the Great West Road but locally named London Road. Despite being a small English village Box has many attractions including the buildings of the village itself. Many of these are made from the natural Box stone which has been quarried in the surrounding area since at least the 8th Century.
