Five Gables is a Victorian miner's cottage with country views built circa 1860, opposite the owners' guest house. Completely re-furbished with facilities and equipment for five guests to sleep in two bedrooms. Lawn, gardens and parking to rear. A footpath leads to the woods and Auckland Path, useful for exercising dogs and their owners. The cottage is some fifteen minutes from Durham, two hours from York or the Lake District, an hour and a half from the Scottish Borders and three hours from Edinburgh. It is an ideal centre for Durham World Heritage Site, the Dales, sea-side, North Yorkshire and Northumbria. There are several golf courses in the area, as well as a number of pubs who serve good and reasonably priced food. Contact owner for short break and bank holiday offer details during High Season
