Population 10,000. Situated on the peaceful River Waveney, this fine market town was once a flourishing seaport. The town is one of the major centres for holiday boating in the Southern part of the Broads.
The town of Beccles is situated in the heart of the Waveney Valley. The town has many 18th Century buildings, but the parish church of St Michael’s with its imposing detached bell tower predates this period. The tower dates from the early 16th Century and serves as a landmark for miles around.
