Aberlour is a village standing on the right bank of the River Spey in Moray, in the north-east of Scotland, situated between Inverness and Aberdeen, north of the Cairngorm National Park. Aberlour sits in the heart of Scotland’s Spey-side, famous for Malt whiskey production, trout and salmon fishing and the Walkers biscuit factory, well-known for their traditional Scottish Shortbread. The settlement grew on the site of the Church and Well dedicated to Saint Drostan, the village was developed in 1812 by Charles Grant of Wester Elchies and is officially known as Charlestown of Aberlour.
