Set at the gateway to the Angus Glens, the Airlie Arms Hotel and The Wynd Restaurant present the best of Scottish hospitality, accommodation and food. The Airlie Arms Hotel is a tasteful conversion of an original medieval monestary and erstwhile coaching inn (c 17th centrury). Every effort has been made to retain the original features of this listed building and the additiion of our new restaurant The Wynd blending easily into this character. Our private and public rooms have been carefully modernised to retain and reflect the hotel's ambience, whilst enhancing the standard of comfort, quality and service our guests deserve. The hotel's location makes an ideal base both as a touring base and as a centre in its own right for a hugh variety of torusim, activity and leisure persuits. Kirriemuir is the birthplace of the world famous author Sir James Barrie of 'Peter Pan' fame. Visit his birthplace and Camera Obscura, his gift to the people of Kirriemuir. Glamis Castle, the birthplace of the last Queen Mother, is just 3 miles from the Hotel and is one of Scotland's premier visitor attractions. The famous Angus Glens provide an abundance of activities from gentle rambling, hillwalking, fishing and shooting pursuits. The area is a must for Golfers with at least 6 great courses within 30 minutes drive from the Hotel - Kirriemuir Golf Course being a mere 5 minutes away.
